Anticipation is building as Nubia gears up for the launch of the Red Magic 9 Pro series, set to be unveiled on November 23 at 2 pm Beijing time (11:30 am IST). Following the success of the Red Magic 8 Pro, which made waves in January, the upcoming iteration promises to surpass expectations.
The Red Magic 9 Pro has been making waves on benchmarking and certification sites, generating considerable excitement. Geekbench sightings have revealed a powerhouse featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and the cutting-edge Android 14-based RedMagic OS.
Intriguingly, Nubia President Ni Fei has teased “great surprises” awaiting users in various facets, including design, performance, battery life, and the display. The phones are rumored to sport notchless displays, incorporating hidden under-display front cameras for a seamless visual experience.
Not stopping there, the Red Magic 9 Pro series is anticipated to introduce the groundbreaking ICE magic cooling system. This revolutionary 3D ice-level VC heat dissipation system is touted as an industry first, promising remarkable efficiency in heat loss compared to traditional cooling systems.
The previous Red Magic 8 Pro boasted Nubia’s ICE 11 system, featuring a restyled 20,000 RPM fan for enhanced airflow. Coupled with the Cube Performance Optimizer, it delivered stable frame rates and low power usage.
To stoke the excitement further, Nubia has released a poster teasing the Red Magic 9 Pro’s design. The poster emphasizes a flat design without a camera bump, describing it as the “ultimate form of a candy bar phone.” The right-angled frame design showcased in the teaser sets it apart from the competition.
While the only official confirmation is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, leaks suggest an OIS-assisted 50-megapixel Samsung GN5 primary camera and a 50-megapixel Samsung JN1 ultra-wide-angle lens. The Red Magic 9 Pro is expected to feature a 6,000mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and an under-display selfie camera.
Beyond the Red Magic 9 Pro series, Nubia is reportedly working on the Nubia Z60 Ultra, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, slated for a December 2023 launch. As the countdown to the Red Magic 9 Pro series launch continues, the gaming smartphone landscape is poised for a transformative addition.
