A complete list of phones on which WhatsApp will stop working is out and users should check whether their phones are on it.
WhatsApp has announced it will be stopping support to devices that are running an old OS. These include both – Apple iPhones & Android phones. Let’s take a look at why WhatsApp won’t be supporting Google Android smartphones. WhatsApp has updated its OS plenty of times (still we have seen many WhatsApp leaks). There are many new features that have been rolled out which require a new tech to run them & the old ones will probably be a drag on WhatsApp’s resources. Also, the latest smartphones have better security features.
WhatsApp said:
“We provide support for and recommend using the following devices:
Android running OS 4.1 and newer
iPhone running iOS 10 and newer
KaiOS 2.5.0 and newer, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2
Once you have one of these devices, install WhatsApp and register your phone number. WhatsApp can only be activated with one phone number on one device at a time.”
